We Understand Your Concern About Attorney Fees. We Will Work With You!

For most people, the cost of obtaining a DUI attorney is an expense that they were not planning on.  However, most people fail to realize that the most expensive part of a DUI is not the cost of a fine or the cost of an attorney, but rather the cost of increased car insurance, as well as increased health and life insurance, for about five to seven years following conviction. These costs alone can add up to tens of thousands of dollars, not to mention the inconvenience of not being able to rent a car, and sometimes not being able to qualify or re-qualify for life and health insurance. A DUI in Utah is roughly the equivalent of a "scarlet letter" that hangs around your neck for the rest of your life, and increases the cost of life, health, home and auto insurance for the next five to seven years of your life.

My fees are set at a flat rate to assist you with your budgeting, and if you need to, you can break up payments over a number of months. I do accept checks, and for your convenience I also accept payment by credit card. We can discuss your individual financial circumstances further during our initial consultation. I have never turned down a promising Utah DUI case because of an inability to immediately pay fees.

The initial phone consultation with me is free, so there is absolutely no risk on your part- and you will learn exactly what your rights and options are. I NEVER sell myself to clients and I NEVER promise things I can't deliver. Too often, I have met clients who have horror stories about people telling them that they guaranteed no jail, or promised that the case was a winner. When we are finished, if you're not convinced that I will be able to protect you to your complete satisfaction, then you can simply decide not to hire me.

REPRESENTING YOURSELF IS A HUGE MISTAKE

Some individuals do try to defend themselves without legal assistance, but this is very risky because the penalties can be harsh and very few individuals, despite their education, can understand legal procedure which is where the system will crush you. People make the mistake of speaking with prosecutors about the facts of their case thinking that if the prosecutors only knew them, they would care about their individual circumstances and cut them a break. What a mistake!!!!

Simply put, even if you dedicate weeks to becoming informed about proper procedure and the individual court in which you find yourself, there is no way that the prosecuting attorney will take you seriously, and because you pose no threat to them in terms of litigating the case, you will not be able to negotiate a possible plea bargain. The system is, unfortunately, a pay to play structure and no matter how good your case may be, you will not be able to properly litigate your case. The biggest mistake people routinely make is believing that because they are a good person, and have not done anything illegal before, that the prosecution will take pity on them and cut them a deal.

Nothing could be farther from the truth; I sometimes say that the Pope would be treated exactly the same as a farmer, but for the difference of having legal counsel. Do not forget, the penalties are statutory - prescribed by law in writing; and there is nothing that a prosecutor can or will do for you because they like you or feel as if you don't deserve this on your record. They do not care that you are a single Mom and have to drive your kids to school; they do not care that you have to drive to get chemotherapy each day; and they do not care that you have never had a driving infraction. It simply does not matter.

Obtaining good legal representation is key for a singular reason; a qualified DUI lawyer can litigate the case for years, and pick up on police mistakes which are usually well hidden to the untrained eye; this translates into "staying power" and an unresolved case which prosecutors despise. Power equals persuasion in the area of DUI law especially, because DUIs are so politically motivated and emotionally charged.

Results that speak for themselves.
